On February 8th 2017 while moving a new 475lb. gun safe into my basement, it fell on my right leg crushing it. After a couple of operations and a bout with a bowel obstruction, I went to a rehab center, home physical therapy and finally outpatient therapy on May 10, 2017. This physical therapy is with Community Health Partners and is taken at the YMCA in Indianola Iowa. So far this has been one of the highlights of this journey. Morgan, Mary and Lindsay (the therapists I have worked with) have been professional and have taken me from a walker/wheelchair stage to crutches and now a cane/no cane. I like getting both water and land therapy. They keep my wife informed and she helps with my home exercises. She is the best support a person could have. Yes I still have a ways to go but I’m sure I would have not been this far without their professional help. Yes its hard and hurts sometimes but you have to do what you have to do to get better. I try to listen and do what I’m told; not complaining (too much) because I know with their help as they follow the Dr.’s instructions I will improve.
If you are in need of physical therapy this is a wonderful group to work with.
